History
The history of GetHelp.rexx is as follows:
-
0.1 Initial attempt
- path problems unless current directory same as target
-
0.2 - can now run script from any directory!
- better handling of file:// descriptors
-
0.3 First go at deleting cached data
- looks for main.html if {filename}.html not present
(main.html commonly used by aguide to html converters)
- pushed all T: files under T:help to facilitate deletion
- relies on EndHelp.rexx to monitor for browser quit
-
0.4 - recursive calls to gethelp used to monitor for
browser quit
-
0.5 - code reorganised into functions
-
0.6 - recognises files dropped on Browser window
-
0.7 First public release
- give preference to main.html over {filename}.html for
better compatibility with guide to html converters
-
0.8 - changed arguments to LhA for better compatibility
-
0.9 - implemented Openurl 2.0 by Troels Hansen
-
1.0 - Aminet rerelease
- .htm files now synomonous with .html, allowing access to
existing PC documents without having to rename all
files to .html files!
-
1.1
- Limitation of not having spaces in the path or filename removed. Files can be dropped onto browser from the Ram Disk without Lha and hence GetHelp! failing...
- As part of spaces fix, improved access speed by copying .help files to ram before unarchiving.
- Removed some extraneous debugging code
The history of SearchHTML is as follows:
-
0.1 Initial attempt
- MUI interface, search and report routines completed and mostly working
- working from command line or workbench icon (no link to browser yet)
-
0.2
- added script to allow calling from IBrowse and handling of temp file
- titles reported correctly (was missing anything after a number)
- handles .htm and .html files
- forgot some fclose statements...
- handles long files (>800 lines) rather than crashing with some weird enforcer hits seemingly caused by filesystem 40.1
- better memory routines
-
0.3 - First public release
- script was complaining in user selected cancel or closed search document window
- WARNING: probably still squirming with bugs!
